So You Saw Me at a Pub… But Your Wedding Deserves the VIP Version
Every now and then, a lovely couple sneaks into one of my pub gigs to “scope me out” before booking me for their wedding. First of all, brilliant move. I love it. No better way to get a taste of what I do.
BUT… before you base your big decision on what you see at the local bar, there’s something you should know.
What you’re seeing at a regular gig? That’s the stripped back, no fuss, crowd pleasing version of me. The “jeans and T-shirt” version. The one who’s lugging a smaller PA and maybe a light or two, because it’s a pub, not a palace.
Weddings, on the other hand? That’s the tuxedo version. That’s when I go full Romeo with the setlist, bring the good lights, the crisp sound, and the actual magic.
Here’s what I offer when love is in the air:
🎶 Acoustic sets – Think sweet, stripped back, love drenched versions of your favourite songs. Me, my guitar, and all the feels. Perfect for ceremonies, canapés, or intimate receptions.
🎸 Electric sets – For when it’s time to hit the dance floor. Vocals, electric guitar, and pro backing tracks that fill the room like a full band. Depending on the room size, a full professional PA system and lighting is also provided. AND, (if permitted by the venue) I can also provide smoke machines and a confetti canon!
🔄 The Hybrid Show – Best of both worlds. Acoustic heartstring pullers early on, then we plug in and let loose for the party with the same pro setup as the Electric Sets!
The setlists for weddings are carefully curated, often with input from the couple. I can learn that special song for your first dance or time your aisle entrance down to the second.
So if you caught me live at a bar and thought, “Not bad!”, just know, that was the warm-up. The wedding version? That’s where the real magic kicks in.
